Thomas "Tom" C. Thompson

Thomas Carroll Thompson, known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his devoted family at the age of 81. Born on September 21, 1944, in Glenelg, Maryland, Tom was a man of exceptional character, known for his handy skills, selfless nature, and gentle spirit. Tom was the cherished husband of Linda "Sue" Thompson, and a loving father to his daughters, Sally Covington and her husband Rodney and Sandy Cole and her husband Mark. He was a doting grandfather to Austin and his wife Kathryn, Adam and his wife Emily and Aaron and his wife Angel. Tom's legacy continues through his four great-grandchildren, Carson, Opal, Hayden, and Ryder Cole, who will miss their great-grandfather dearly. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. Tom was predeceased by his beloved dog Katie, his parents Clarence Thompson and Ethel Walker Thompson, and his brother, Ray Thompson. He leaves behind his brother, Larry Thompson of Hampstead, Maryland. As a young man he built a career as a skilled auto mechanic. His work was not just a job; it was a passion that he pursued with diligence and excellence, and his influence will be felt for years to come. A man with a golden heart, Tom was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of selflessness. His gentle demeanor and ability to fix anything made him a go-to person in times of need, earning him the love and respect of many. Tom's interests were simple yet profound. He found joy in the everyday—be it a job well done, a family gathering, or the companionship of his dog. His presence brought comfort and stability to his loved ones, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Thomas Carroll Thompson, we celebrate a life well lived with integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to family.
