Fern Pauline Stafford age 77 of Sykesville Fern Pauline Stafford, 77 of Sykesville, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia. Born January 5, 1933 in Lee County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jack Sage and the late Mollie Tankersly Sage. She was the wife of George William Stafford of Sykesville. She was a graduate of the nursing program at South Carroll High School and had been an LPN at Springfield Hospital Center where she retired in 1984. She had also been an LPN at Sykesville Eldercare. Along with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Stafford's Produce for 27 years. She resided with her horses and dogs at Hide A Way Acres Farm. She loved to spend all of her time with her grandchildren, camping and just being around the farm. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter Dianna Lynne Stafford, grandchildren Cameron and Colin, sister Geraldine Snyder of Finksburg, brother Robert Sage of Westminster, half siblings Mozetta Hammonns of Virginia, Billy Owens of Eldersburg and Jackie Sage of Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Williams. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11am at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 13125 Forsythe Road, Sykesville with Rev. Earl Mullins officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. Friends may call at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday.
