Earnest Ralph Brown

Earnest Ralph Brown, Sr., known affectionately as Ralph to his friends and family, was called home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on September 23, 1933, in Grayson County, Virginia, Ralph was a beacon of steadfast love and faith throughout his life. His final days were spent in Sykesville, Maryland, surrounded by the love of his family. Ralph's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his faith. He shared a blissful marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Lee Renshaw Brown, and together they raised a family that included their son Earnest Ralph Jr. and daughter-in-law Linda, their daughter Patricia and son-in-law Jim Craft, and their late sons Richard Lee Brown and Michael H. Brown, along with Michael's wife Donna. Ralph was a cherished brother to Jim Brown and his wife Harriett, late sister Helen DeMalade and brother Douglas Brown, along with Douglas's wife Shirley. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will carry forth the values he instilled in them. Ralph's life was marked by service, both to his country and his community. As a proud veteran of the Korean War, he served with distinction in the United States Air Force. His professional career was equally distinguished, with 34 years dedicated to working as an engineer for the State of Maryland's Psychiatric Hospitals, including Springfield, Rosewood, and Henryton. His work ensured the wellbeing of countless individuals, a true reflection of his loving and kind nature. A devoted Christian, Ralph spent a combined 60 years serving the Lord through his involvement with Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Ellicott City, MD, and Redeeming Rivers Church of God in Woodbine, MD. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions as a thoughtful and compassionate man. Ralph's kindness was felt by all who knew him, and his legacy of love will continue to inspire those he has left behind. Ralph was preceded in passing by his parents, Frances Brown and Effie Pollard Brown, whose values and faith laid the foundation for the life he so honorably lived. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and lessons he shared with those around him. Earnest Ralph Brown, Sr.'s journey on this earth may have concluded, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
