Mr. White Lee Jones Jr.

September 27, 1948 - November 7, 2020

White Lee Jones, Jr., age 72 of Woodbine, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his daughter Karen's home after a long struggle with dementia. Born September 27, 1948 in Howard County, MD, he was the son of the late White Lee Jones and the late Mary E. Atkins Jones. He was the husband of the late Wilma L. Jones. He attended Glenelg High School in Glenwood, MD. He had worked in construction for many years and was retired from C.W. Wright Construction. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, playing cards, and spending time in the sun. He loved to watch football, nature shows, and westerns. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his son White Lee Jones, III and his wife Katrina of Frederick, daughters Rebecca E. Gernand and her husband Christopher of Sykesville, and Karen Colson and her husband Joe of Woodbine, brother David Jones, sister Betty Smith and her husband John, grandchildren Joseph Colson, III, Kristin Colson, Christopher Gernand Jr., and Natalie Jones, and great grandchildren Aubrey Colson, Gracie Colson, Kynlee Colson, and Nash Colson. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Seitz. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 11am until 1pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd. Sykesville where a funeral service will begin at 1pm immediately following the visitation. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. Wearing of masks, social distancing and 75% capacity at the funeral home will be required.
