Vivian Lea Shipe

Vivian Lea "Peanut" Shipe, age, 77, of Sykesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Birch Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 29, 1945, in Carroll County, MD to Florence Elizabeth Paynter Shipe and the late Ora Dempsy Shipe. Peanut retired from Springfield Hospital Center, as Head of Housekeeping where she had worked for 42 years. After her retirement, she continued her commitment to the hospital actively serving in Volunteer Services for many years. She loved going to flea markets, yard sales oyster suppers and collecting cow figurines. Surviving in addition to her mother are sister Carrie "Jolie" Selby of Sykesville, special nephew Wayne Selby of Sykesville and brother Roland D. Shipe of Hanover, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Peanut was predeceased by sisters Thelma P. Mills and Catherine Hicks. At her request funeral services and interment will be private.
