Stephen Michael Upton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Heaven gained a new Angel! Stephen Michael Upton, age 53 of Sykesville, passed away on March 3, 2022 at home, after a short battle with colon cancer. Stephen was born in Baltimore on April 25, 1968 to the late Edward Upton SR. and Elizabeth Rae Coster Upton. He graduated from North East High School in 1986, where he enjoyed playing baseball. Stephen started his career as a Field Service Technician at Maryland Telephone but more recently was employed by Allen Corporation of America, a Telecommunications contractor. He was an avid sports fan, loyal to his home town, always rooting for the Orioles, Terps, Ravens and the Capitals. When not working, Steve enjoyed a good cold glass of beer and golfing. He was a member of the Spalding Golf Club. Stephen is survived by son Stephen Michael Upton, Jr., daughter Kristen Nicole Upton, sister and brother in law Margaret "Peggy" and Alan Bundy of Richmond, Kentucky, brothers and sisters in law Edward, III and Earleen Upton, Charles W. and Susan Upton and brother Brian K. Upton, and many nieces and nephews.. Stephen is also survived by his ex-wife Patricia Freyberg of San Diego. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Interment will follow where Stephen will be laid to rest in Lake View Memorial Park.
