Mrs. Sally Patricia Watsic Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sally Watsic, 56, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Dana Watsic. Sally and Dana shared 23 beautiful years of marriage together. She was the proud mother to Jack and Annie. Sally’s children were her whole world and her eternal optimism and strength will always radiate within them. She was also a playful dog, cat, horse, goat, bunny, duck and chicken mom. Born in Catonsville, Maryland, Sally was the daughter of Dr. Norman and Cynthia Maycock and little sister to Susan Mendoza. She graduated from Frostburg University with a degree in Education and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola University. She went on to teach Health and Physical Education in Baltimore and Frederick counties for over 30 years. Sally was a devoted Field Hockey, Lacrosse, and Unified Track coach who cared so deeply for each and every player on her team. Her dedication and love for sport impacted countless students both on and off the field teaching not only how to work as a team to play a game but also how to be better people in the process. Sally’s kindness and positive spirit is her legacy to her family, many friends, and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Dana Watsic, son Jack, daughter Annie, mother Cynthia Maycock, sister Susan Mendoza, brother-in-law John Mendoza, niece Alexandra Pallazola and her husband Christian, nephew Ian Mendoza and his wife Camille. She was also a loving “Great Aunt Sally” to Adrienne Pallazola. She was predeceased by her father Dr. Norman Maycock. The memorial service will be held on Monday May 23rd at 1 pm at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel (6416 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784). The visitation will be held from 12 pm to the time of the service. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the METAvivor Research and Support Organization who specialize in Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, Support and Awareness.
