Robert W. Fleming, Jr. June 18, 1942 - July 18, 2020 Robert W. Fleming, Jr., (78) of New Oxford, Pennsylvania passed away on July 18, 2020. Born June 18, 1942 in Baltimore, he was the only son of Robert W. Fleming, Sr. and Mary Gladys (Fowble) Fleming. He was the devoted husband of Beverly Jane (Ekren) Fleming. In addition to his beloved wife Beverly, surviving are his daughters, Carol Ann (Fleming) Zinn and her husband Robert L. Zinn of Littlestown, Pennsylvania and Donna Elaine Fleming of Woodbine, Maryland. Bob was a 1960 graduate of Sykesville High School and enlisted in the Air Force. While stationed at Larson Airforce Base in Washington, he met his wife of 58 years. After his service in the Airforce, Bob was a professional welder with Westinghouse, Sykesville plant. He continued his career as a welder and finished as a pipe-line inspector for the Williams Companies until his retirement. Bob and his family enjoyed riding saddle bred and quarter horses at their farmette in Woodbine, Maryland as well as attending horse shows in the area. He enjoyed field game hunting with his rabbit dogs and deer hunting with both family and friends. He enjoyed sport shooting and was a long-time member of both the Sykesville Fish & Game and the McSherrystown Fish & Game Associations. He was an avid fan of both Blue-Grass and Country music and enjoyed historic Western cowboy movies including actors John Wayne, Gene Autry, Tom Mix and Sons of the Pioneers. He enjoyed traveling and visiting western parks, Florida and the eastern shores of Maryland and New Jersey with his family. A private visitation will be held at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville with burial service following for family and friends on Friday, July 24,2020, 11:00AM at Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, Maryland. Masks and social distancing will be required at the cemetery.
