Mrs. Patricia Lee Smith

March 29, 1951 - April 6, 2022

Patricia Lee Witte Smith (March. 29, 1951 - April 6, 2022) was born in Baltimore at Lutheran Hospital to Charles Denton Witte and Virginia Lee Witte (née Starr). She married Barry Smith November 14, 1970, and is survived by daughter Wendy Lee Ross (Shane) and son Dale Charles Smith (Katie Snyder) and grandchildren Meghan Ross, Austin Smith, Madison Smith, and Cooper Smith. She is predeceased by her parents as well as brother Timothy Witte and sister-in-law Nancy. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Known by all affectionately as “Patti,” “Aunt Patti,” or “Mom-Mom, ” she grew up in Granite Maryland with lots of cousins nearby and was a member of Theta Rho Girls Club in her teens. She is a graduate of Woodlawn High School (1970) and attended Catonsville Community College to become certified in early childhood development. She was employed by or participated in various roles at Hernwood Elementary including Daycare, cafeteria and PTA, Edrich Lumber, and Wards Chapel Preschool. She liked to spend time at Ocean City as well as Garrett County and enjoyed adventures on snowmobile trips to Canada and Maine. But her favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren during their various sports games and dance. Services are at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, Md 21784. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4/12 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm, Service Wednesday 4/13 at 10am in the Haight Chapel. Interment will follow at Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Road, Woodstock, Md In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to Wards Chapel Preschool at 11023 Liberty Road, Randallstown, Md
