Mrs. Naomi Isabella Sanders
April 10, 1924 - March 20, 2022
Naomi Isabella Sanders (Norris) was born on April l 0, l 924 to the late Eugene B. Norris, Sr and Ethel V. and transitioned to her eternal home on March 20, 2022. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers; Josephine Washington, Mary Collins, Earl Norris and Eugene Norris, Jr (Jack). Early education was in Carroll County at the Historic Colored Schoolhouse, then she graduated from Robert Moton. She went on to work at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Md. She retired from there after 43 years of service. She was married to Harry Sanders (deceased) and they had a daughter, Muriel Loretta, who they legally adopted in 1975, and she died on March 12, 1987 at 26 years old. She loved going on bus trips to casinos and the race tracks. She also attended the Waxter Senior Center in Baltimore, MD and The Carroll County Senior Center. Every day she watched Wheel of Fortune and would not answer the phone. She was a longtime member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was an avid photographer and collected many family memories. She lived in Baltimore City and then Sykesville. She recently resided at Springhouse Assisted Living in Pikesville. She was very well loved there even though she gave all of her caregivers a hard time. She is survived by: Five nieces-Beverly Reid (California), Marcella Collins-Wright (Sykesville), Vanessa Hunter (Baltimore), Gretchen Norris Robinson (Sykesville) and Delores Jason (Boo-Eldersburg) and one nephew-Richard Collins (Johnsville) and a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
