Mr. Marvin Elsworth McClary Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marvin Elsworth McClary, age 40, of Ellicott City, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia, MD. He was born on August 3, 1981, in Harlem, NY to Harold McClary and Bobbie Blair McClary of Columbia, SC. He was the husband of Maritza Torres McClary. Marvin attended the University of Virginia where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in 2003. He later received a graduate degree in Project Management from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Marvin worked with the U.S. General Services Administration for 10 years before falling ill in October 2018. He enjoyed spending his free time grilling on his deck, spending time with family and friends, golfing, and watching sports such as his beloved NY Giants. Marvin is also survived by his daughter Camila McClary of Clarksburg, MD; brothers Sidney McClary of Palm Bay, FL, Harold "Cordell" McClary of Dallas, TX; and his nieces Sidnie Talina McClary of Palm Bay, FL, and Natalia Reid of Clarksville, MD. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. There will also be a visitation and funeral service at the JP Holley Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 9010 Farrow Road, Columbia, SC. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Columbia, SC.
