LeRoy F. Roberts Jr.

July 29, 1940 - April 7, 2022

LeRoy F. Roberts, Jr., age 81, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at home with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol A. Roberts (nee Frederick); 5 children: Michael H. Roberts, Teresa M. Brocato, Steven P. French, Allen L. Roberts, and Stephen G. Roberts; 15 loved grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings: Nancy Rodden (predeceased), Bryan Roberts, Charles Roberts, Jackie Roberts Cage, and Chris Roberts. LeRoy served honorably in the United States Navy from September 1959 to September 1963. He attended technical training at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. During his military service he served in the Pacific Theater for 24 months, then finished his enlisted service time at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington. LeRoy then received his degree from the University of Maryland and worked for the Health & Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for 36 years. He enjoyed many activities; he was an avid clock & watch collector, enjoyed skiing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, biking, camping, volunteer work, and family gatherings. Viewing/Visitation for family and friends will on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road Sykesville, MD 21784.The funeral service will be at 11AM on Wednesday, April 13, at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784.
