Mr. John Edward Topper

April 7, 1959 - March 10, 2022

John Edward Topper, 62, of Marriottsville, Maryland passed away on March 10, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Just like he dealt with all life, John managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. John was born on April 7, 1959. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Towson University. He later earned his MBA from Loyola College. John was the devoted husband of Mary Hamper Topper for 38 years. For more than three decades, John was a member of the Executive Team at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland where he touched the lives of many. John was known for his love of golf and could often be found on the golf course at Piney Branch. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his daughter Lauren Fraser and husband Matthew, son Kevin Topper, daughter Megan Topper, and grandchildren Elliott and Cooper Fraser. He is also survived by his sister Kathy Topper and wife Carrie Norman and brother Fred and wife Chris Beall. He was predeceased by parents John and Mary Katheryn Topper. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 16, 2022, at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel. Interment to follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, West Friendship.
