Mr. John Perry Claypoole Sr.

February 8, 1934 - April 11, 2022

John Perry Claypoole, Sr., age 88 of Stewartstown, PA, and formerly of Sykesville, MD, passed away, Monday, April 11, 2022 at York Hospital in York, PA. Born February 8, 1934 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James H. Claypoole, Sr. and the late Winifred Perry Claypoole. He was the husband of the late Donna Claypoole. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for AAI Corporation as an electrical engineer for 37 years. He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God where he sang in the choir for 35 years. John, along with his wife, Donna also volunteered their time to build sets for many performances Trinity conducted over the years. He was a member of Christian Farmers Outreach and American Legion Post 0455 in Stewartstown, PA. Surviving are sons John Claypoole Jr. and his wife Terry of Stewartstown, PA, and Mark Claypoole and his wife Cynthia of Chapin, SC, brother Rick Claypoole and his fiance Joy Beyer, sister Mary Alice Lucier, sister-in-law Pat Claypoole, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother James H. Claypoole Jr. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 6-8pm and on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10-11 am at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
