Mrs. Joanne Greenwalt Spriggs

May 26, 1937 - January 31, 2021

Joanne Greenwalt Spriggs, age 83 of Sykesville, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 in her sleep, peacefully surrounded by family. Born May 26, 1937 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John William and Ella Cecelia Fitzpatrick Greenwalt. She was the wife of Paul Floyd Spriggs of Sykesville MD, her husband of 64 years, who lovingly attended his wife for 25 years after her stroke. Joanne had been a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Maryland Right to Life, Sodality, Catholic Daughters and a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed time with her family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband is daughter Roxanne Thompson and her husband Jim, son Craig Spriggs and his wife Lauree, daughter Shellie Harpine and her husband John, son Lawrence Spriggs and his wife Kate. She was predeceased by her son Vincent Paul Spriggs and her daughter Paulette Spriggs. Her great love was her 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than rocking a newborn baby. She is also survived by brothers, Stan Greenwalt, Stephen Greenwalt, and David Greenwalt. Funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9531 Liberty Rd., Randallstown, MD 21133. Masks, social distancing will be required at the church. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville.
