Mrs. Velma Kathryn Clark Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Velma Kathryn Clark, 96, of Glenelg Velma Kathryn Clark, age 96, of Glenelg, died suddenly on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Casey House, Olney. Born September 14, 1913, in Tulare, CA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harvey and Sadie Smith Lingle. She was the wife of the late Howard W. Clark who died in 1981. Velma had worked as a Registered Nurse many years ago. She had been a homemaker and helped to run the family farm for most of her life. She was a longtime member of Gethsemene Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Warner Hord of Glenelg, sons and daughters-in-law: Harold L. "Bucky" and Martha Clark of Glenelg and Howard W., Jr. "Pete" and Emily Clark of Glenelg, brother: Rev. George and Jessie Lingle of Orlando, FL, brother-in-law: Tom Clark of Vero Beach, FL and sister-in-law: Laura Jordon of Severna Park. She is also surivived by nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, dear friend: Louise Varner of Sykesville and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predecesed by sons: Howard G. and David L. Clark, three brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Rd) Sykesville. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home.
