In Loving Memory of Rosemary Wilson Patterson Rosemary (Rose) Wilson Patterson, 72, of Sykesville, MD, left this world on October 5, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born March 16, 1951, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Russell and Phyllis Wilson, Rose's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her pets, and her desire to help others through her work as a psychologist. She is survived by her loving husband, Val Patterson, her devoted son, Kevin Wilson, her cherished sister, Jane Wilson, and many others. Rose's enduring love and support have left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her. Rose's passion for helping others led her on an extraordinary journey. She pursued a career in psychology, earning her Ph.D. at the University of North Texas (formerly North Texas State University). Throughout her distinguished career, Rosemary served in various significant roles, including Assistant Director of the Psychology Department at Spring Grove Hospital Center, as well as Director of Psychology at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, D.C. Rose's leadership and dedication to her patients and colleagues was instrumental in enhancing the quality of care provided at both institutions. In addition to her contributions within the hospital settings, Rose maintained a thriving private practice for an impressive 38 years. Her empathetic and insightful approach to therapy brought comfort and healing to countless individuals and families who sought her guidance. Beyond her professional achievements, Rose possessed a generous spirit and a warm heart. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished her time with her husband, son, sister, and others. She loved to laugh with them; even just a look could set her to laughing. Her legacy lives on in the memories they created and shared together. Rose Patterson's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy of compassion, wisdom, empathy, and dedication will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
