Mrs. Rosemarie Ann Downey

Rosemarie Ann Downey (nee Klein), age 72, of Randallstown, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown. Born September 29, 1950 in Bon Secours Hospital Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles Adam Klein, Sr. and Dolores Mary Klein (nee Andes). She was the wife of the late Leo Thomas Downey, III. Rosemarie attended grade school at St Charles Borromeo Pikesville before attending Mercy High School Baltimore Class of 1968. She went on to attend UCPR (Catholic University of Puerto Rico) where she met her future husband, Leo. They were married at Holy Family Randallstown in 1972 and soon after she embraced the adventure of traveling the world as a military wife for the next 20 years. After, she returned to work with the family business Charles A. Klein & Sons, Inc in the office in various positions. She enjoyed touring cultural sites and collecting memories and mementos from her visits. She found pleasure in various crafts she learned during her time as an army wife. She made many lifelong friends and Leo and Ro would often join bowling leagues and soft tip dart leagues to spend more time with these friends and each other. She was an avid football fan and a diehard Ravens fan. She would often pass time by teaching her grandchildren various board and card games from her childhood and beyond. She is survived by her son, Leo Thomas Downey, IV and wife Cassie and their kids Thomas Leo, Rosemarie Jeanne, and Eileen LuAnn; siblings, Charles Klein, Jr. and wife Joyce, Michael Klein and wife Patty Marie, Richard Klein and wife Bonni, and Cathy Batista and husband Rob Harris; sister-in-law, Maureen Beck Klein Childs and husband Gary Childs; brother-in-law, Chuck Kennedy, III and wife Maria; and the families of her three brother-in-laws on the Downey side (Kevin, Sean, and Paddy) and so many nieces and nephews and cousins that she loved so dearly. She was predeceased by siblings, Patricia Kennedy (nee Klein), Andrew Klein, Sr., and Timothy Klein; and her grandson, Salvatore Joseph Downey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9531 Liberty Road, Randallstown. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Randallstown.
