Mrs. Rose M. Icenroad

Rose M. Icenroad age, 76, of Sykesville Rose M. Icenroad (nee Kozac), age 76. of Sykesville died, Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Hart Heritage Estates, Street, MD form melanoma cancer. She was born September 14, 1934, in Baltimore, MD. She was the wife of Earl V. Icenroad, her husband of 57 years. They were married on July 4, 1953. Rose was a graudate from Catholic High in 1952. Rose was a homemaker for 17 years until, she sought employment at the A&P grocery store on Rolling Road, Catonsville. There, she worked as a cashier/bookkeeper for 10 years. She was hired by Sykesville Federal Savings Association as a teller in 1982. She was the promoted as branch manager in 1987, unitl her retirement in 2004. Respected by her peers, she was elected to sit on the Board of Directors and had served as Secretary from 1987 to 2008. During her years at the bank she helped to furbish the bank in 1985 to its current building. Rose volunteered at St. Peter the Apsotle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown as a receptionist in the rectory. She and her husband also counted church offerings after each Sunday mass. She was a voracious reader and and old fashioned seamstress. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, eating chocolate and solving Sudoku puzzles. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Larry Ambrose of Havre de Grace and Jerri and Karl Sumwalt of Bel Air, sons and daughters-in-law: James and Sharon Icenroad of Sykesville and Michael Icenroad and Tina Finnegan of PA and grandchildren: Lauren Hughes and husband, Jake of Aberdeen, Krystie Ambrose and fiance, Justin Bohlen of Perryville, Madison Sumwalt of Bel Air, Christopher Icenroad and wife, Amanda of Owings Mills, Matthew Icenroad of Chestertown and Kyle Icenroad of Hagerstown. A funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9201 Church Street, Libertytown. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Rd) Sykesville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.
