Pauline D. Blankner

Pauline Blankner Age 99 of Westminster Pauline D. Blankner, 99 of Westminster, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born December 22, 1911 in Timberville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Hoover Driver and the late Sarah Hagerman Driver. She was the wife of the late Earle Blankner. She graduated from high school in Catonsville and later attended Maryland Institute in Baltimore. She had worked for many years in the office of her brother's livestock firm. She was active in the Homemakers Clubs, serving as President of Carroll County and State of Maryland. She also served as a leader of 4-H Club and Secretary of the first Carroll County Government Study Committee. She served on the Maryland State Plan for the Emergency Management Resources Committee in 1966. She also taught vacation bible school for several years. While at Carroll Lutheran Village, she served as President on the Resident's Council and was on the Board of Directors from 1997-98. She then continued to serve on the Property Committee. At the chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, she served as acolyte, lector and also assisted to serve communion for residents that were unable to attend at services. Surviving are daughter-in-law Patricia Gilbert of Frankford, WV, grandchildren Martha Wentzel and her husband Andy of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Dan Gilbert and his wife Darlene of Sallisaw, OK, Sam Gilbert and his wife Victoria of Fayetteville, NC, and Beatrix Blouin and her husband David of Wellington, FL, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her son, the late Nelson Gilbert. A memorial service will be held at the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 am with Rev. Jimmie Schwarz officiating. Inurnment will follow in United Church of Christ Cemetery in Timberville, VA. Friends may call at the Krug Chapel on on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 9:30 am until the time of services.
