Mr. Patrick Barrett Herbert

Patrick Barrett Herbert, age 63 of Sykesville, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. Born July 12, 1960 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Robert Leo and Mildred Patricia (nee Graham) Herbert. He was the husband of Susan Paige (nee Haight) Herbert, his wife of 38 years. Patrick was a packaging engineer with Northrop Grumman, retiring with over 35 years of service. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan and enjoyed photography. There was nothing more important to him than being a dad and grandfather and he was the best at both. His grandchildren affectionately called him “Pipi” and they gave him the greatest joy in life. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law Erin Kathryn and Alex J. Bastian of York, PA, sons and daughter-in-law Michael Barrett and Amanda N. Herbert of Sykesville, and Brandt Patrick Herbert and his girlfriend Kelly Yost of Sykesville, grandchildren Gwendolyn Paige Bastian, Henry Norman Bastian, Cameron Barrett Herbert, Emersyn Jane Herbert and Brielle Nicole Herbert, sister Mary Christine Wisby of Sykesville, brother Michael Curtis Herbert of Westminster, mother-in-law Susan D. Haight of Sykesville, aunts and uncles Dorothy Duerr of Westminster, Sandra Lutz of Troy, OH, Richard "Dick" Estes of Westminster, and Carl Doyle of New Bern, NC, brother-in-law Brian L. Haight of Finksburg, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jackie Rogers and her husband David of Boca Raton, FL, and nieces and nephews Megan Winter and her husband Stephen, Joel Guenther, Daria Rende and her husband Elliot, and George Guenther, great niece and great nephews Madison Winter, Parker Winter, Christian Guenther, Jonah Guenther and Arlo Guenther. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Harry Weer Haight, and uncle John "Jack" Duerr. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 4-7 pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11 am.
