Mrs. Mary Henrietta Howard

Mary Henrietta (Quesenberry) Howard November 15, 1940 - February 9, 2025 Mary Henrietta Quesenberry was born November 15, 1940 to Fountain William and Cornelia Hylton Quesenberry. She was the baby in the family. Both her mother and maternal grandmother would die in their early 40's. Sunday morning, February 9th, Joe was sitting with Mary. John came around 10:30 or 11 and Joe ran some errands. Rachel came in to join John. John started telling stories about mom and her youngest brother. She stopped and started breathing about 3 times. We looked at her and Rachel told them she was gone John call Joe. Joe, Jim, and Beth came in. John and Joe had been caregivers to Mary for years. Mary died of Alzheimer's Disease. Mary was a homemaker until her youngest was old enough to be home by himself. She tried her hand at driving a school bus. She figured when she didn't pass her driving test, that was the world telling her she shouldn't be a bus driver. Plus, she didn't like hearing noisy kids. She told us a kid said look we're going up the hill and she said if you don't like it get out and walk. The guy training her laughed. She had a few more stories. She worked at the cleaners until she left to take care of her grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by both of her parents, as well as both of Ronnie's parents; her sister Betty Lou (and Randolph) Pickett, Orlando, FL; brothers Dan (and Jane) Quesenberry of New Hampshire; William Fountain Quesenberry of Charlestown, WV; Don Quesenberry of VA; and Bob Quesenberry of Ellicott City, MD; a few neices and nephews; along with her husband of 64 years, Ronnie; her older brother-in-law George N. Howard, of Biloxi, MS; sisters-in-law Patricia Ann Burch of Sarasota, FL; Joan Williams of Arcadia, FL; and Edith Quesenberry of Sykesville, MD. Mary is survived by her older brother, Lowell Quesenberry of Sykesville, MD; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Robinson Quesenberry of Ellicott City, MD; brothers-in-law Danny Williams of Arcadia, FL; Jerry (and Shirley) Howard of Sarasota, FL; and Denny (and Cheryl) Howard of Athens, TN. Mary leaves behind her daughters, Elizabeth (and Dan) Ammons of Crestview, FL; Susan (and Chuckie) Gernert of Ocala, FL; her sons James (and Beth) Howard of Westminster, MD; Joseph Howard and John Howard, both of Sykesville, MD. Her grandchildren: Michael (and Gina) Dillman of Frederick, MD; Nicholas Howard of Ocala, FL; Anthony (and Billie Jo) DeWalt of Anthony, FL; Christopher (and Becky) Dillman of Mount Airy, MD; Rachel (and Gil) Arnold of Westminster, MD; Sierra (and Andrew) Fraser of Ocala, FL; Meghan (;and Sam) McTiernan of Ocala, FL; and Jacob (and Shelbi) Howard of Frederick, MD. Her great grandchildren: Krystal Hartzel; Austin Reid Cole; Cody Alexander Howard; Jasmine Marie Alexis (and Sam) Gibson; Michael DeWalt; Caleb Dillman; Logan DeWalt; Marissa DeWalt; Destini Paige Howard; Ava Dillman; Evie Fraser; Colin Dillman; Abby Dillman; Genna Arnold; Ian Fraser; James Arnold; Daniel Dillman; Jude Arnold; and Jacob Gregory Howard; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends. She also has a great great grandson: Nolan Howard. Pallbearers: Jacob Howard; James Howard; Joseph Howard; John Howard; Christopher Dillman; Gil Arnold and Anthony DeWalt. Arrangements were entrusted to Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, P.A. located at 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD 21784. There will be 2 viewings on Monday February 17, 2025: 2-4 pm (ET) and 6-8 pm (ET) On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, there will be a Chapel Service at Haight Funeral at 1:00 pm (ET), with the burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery in Ellicott City, MD.
