Leonard Guy LeVee Jr.

Leonard Guy LeVee, Jr. 93 of Eldersburg, MD beloved father and Poppa passed away June 5, 2023, at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born in 1930 in Baltimore City, Guy was the only child of the late Leonard G. Sr and Marie C. LeVee (nee Zeisel). A lifelong resident of Maryland, Guy was a graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnical Institute. He began his 57-year career in the elevator business with General Elevator, becoming one of the top men in his field. At age 60 in 1990 he formed his own consulting firm and by the time he closed his consulting firm, LeVee and Associates, in 2004, he had worked in every state and several foreign countries, a fact that gave him enormous pride. Upon retirement, he and his wife Maggie retired to Eldersburg to be closer to family. An avid painter, Guy enjoyed spending time at his easel. His greatest enjoyment in retirement was traveling with Maggie, whether on a cruise or at their favorite spot in Daytona. And there was nothing Guy loved better than spending time with his family. He was well-loved and will be greatly missed by his family, the decades of friends, the wonderful caregivers from Bridging Life and Right at Home and everyone who had been fortunate enough to know him. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Maggie D. LeVee, his sister-in-law Mary Dell Wickham and brothers-in-law Robert D. Wickham and Gordon (Skip) L. Filbey, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Gail Winstanley and husband Bruce of Johnstown, PA and his son Philip G. LeVee and wife Susan of Eldersburg, MD., as well as six grandchildren; Amy, Robert, Alan, Dave, Max, and Cait along with six great grandchildren; Joshua, Charlene, Mikalya, Oliver, Lennon and Rowan. In addition, he is also survived by six nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 2pm to 5pm. An additional viewing will be held at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Road, Sykesville, MD on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 10am to 11am to be followed immediately by the funeral service.
