Mr. Joseph Paul Leeds

It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Joseph Leeds, who died peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on April 16, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, Joe lived a full and meaningful life defined by service, dedication, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States military for four years, carrying the values of honor and discipline with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career with the National Security Agency, where he worked for 34 years. He loved spending time with his family and found his greatest joy in the life he shared with his wife Vonnie of 55 years, their four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. For over 40 years, Joe was a faithful servant of the Lord and a devoted member of his church community, Liberty Church, where he served as a Deacon, and found spiritual strength and fellowship. His faith guided his life and was evident in the kindness, humility, and generosity he showed to everyone around him. A lifelong Marylander at heart, Joe was an avid sports fan. He found great joy in cheering on the Orioles, the Ravens, and the Maryland Terrapins. Whether watching a game or discussing stats, his love for sports was infectious and enduring. He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Helen Veronica Leeds. He is survived by his four children: Patti Correll; Michael Leeds and his wife, Heather; Robin O'Mara and her husband, Ed; and Tracie Rankin. His grandchildren: Jodi Correll, Jessica Correll, Julia Rankin, Cory Correll, Ryan Leeds, Teagan O'Mara, Jamison Rankin, Liadan O'Mara, Kilian O'Mara, and Bentley Rankin; and his great-grandchildren, Scarlett Correll and Ethan Smith Leeds. He is also survived by his sisters Marion Woods and Mary Leeds, and his brother Harry Leeds and his wife Gloria. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD, 21784, on Wednesday July 23, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 11301 Liberty Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117.
