Mrs. Ina Lou Parlette

Ina Lou (Ecker) Parlette, 81, of Columbia, MD passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 29th 2014 at her home. Born March 23rd, 1933 in Elkridge, Maryland at Bland Air Farm in Howard County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ina and Nelson Ecker. Lou was retired from John’s Hopkins Applied Physic Lab, where she was the director of events for over 25 years. Surviving are her beloved children Charles Martin Parlette and wife Marilyn of Sykesville, Ronald Keith Parlette and wife Debbie of Pasadena, Stephen Lee Parlette and wife Melissa of Sykesville. Surviving grandchildren are Andrew Parlette and wife Jennifer, Matthew Parlette and fiancé Jessica, Christopher Parlette and wife Megan, Jessica Balderston and husband Alik, Joseph Parlette and wife Lauren, Keith Parlette and wife Amanda, Amber Parlette, Christin Damron, DJ Damron and wife Tabitha, Brannin Clark and husband Steve, and Wayne Parlette. Great Grandchildren are Samuel, Zachary, Nathan, Echo, Olivia, Kalie, Emilee, Haley, Jacob, Dezmond, Lily, Lola, Charlie and Ava. This loving family will carry on her shining spirit. Surviving siblings are twin sister Violet Mae Meade of Myrtle Beach, NC, brother Thomas Ecker and wife Mary Ann of Oxford, PA, and sister Phyllis of Florence, CO. Ina Lou was predeceased by her beloved son Wayne Edward Parlette who was called home to glory in July of 1988, great grandson Ronald Keith Parlette III and siblings Robert Ecker, Neal Ecker, and Joseph Ecker. For those of you who knew Lou, she was a giant ball of energy and a positive force of God’s creation. She enjoyed spreading her love for the Lord and life to everyone she met. Lou lived each day to its fullest. She was a mentor to many and a loving Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother and Friend. In our family world we have many blended families, but she taught us to drop the step son and step daughter title. We were to embrace each person as a whole and not a half. Each of her sons was revered as her “babies”. She was so very proud of them all in countless ways…..and made sure everyone around her, including strangers, knew it! As a Grandmother; she was always ready with a smile or words of encouragement when times were tough and help in many ways to see each person’s potential in our family.
