Mrs Elizabeth Ann Daly

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Daly, 91, of "Annondale", Woodbine, Md, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 28, 2012. Mrs. Daly was born December 23, 1920 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Morgan S. Prentiss and Mary Elizabeth Maccubbin Prentiss Corsa. Mrs. Daly graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1937 and later attended Strayer Business College. She married H. Kenneth Daly August 2, 1941. Mrs. Daly was the past Maryland State Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, on the National Society DAR Board of Management, NSDAR Speaker Staff, a life Member of the National Officers’ Club of the NSDAR, past Maryland State Vice Regent DAR, State Historian DAR, and past Chapter Regent and Vice Regent of the Commodore Joshua Barney DAR Chapter. She was presented with a Medal of Appreciation from the Sons of the American Revolution and was an Associate member of the John Edwards Chapter DAR and Guadalajara Chapter NSDAR Mexico. A member of Jennings Chapel Methodist Church, Woodbine, MD, for fifty years, Mrs. Daly served as past Trustee and Historian, Sunday School teacher, and Director of Vacation Bible School. She was past President of the Cattail Creek Garden Club, Phi Sigma Epsilon Sorority, Kounty Kris Kringle, and the Howard County Unit of the American Cancer Society. She was past Vice President of the Howard County Council of PTA and the Liberty Hill Womens’ Club. She was an avid reader, artist, quilter, lecturer, speaker, and golfer and enjoyed tennis, swimming and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, H. Kenneth Daly, three children, Kenneth Craig Daly, Barbara Ann Floyd, Terry Daly Warfield and husband Tim, six grandchildren, Kenneth Craig Daly Jr. and wife Becky, Kevin Daly, Keith Daly, Courtney Ueltschy and husband Mark, Robyn Spitz and husband John, and Sean Floyd,and eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Alex and Emily Daly, Madison and Averie Ueltschy, Colin, Carson and Corynne Spitz, and her sister Dorothy Prentiss Sisk of Littleton, CO, as well as many extended family members and loving friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2012, 2p-4p, and 7p-9p at Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church, Woodbine, MD. A Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, 11AM at Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church with interment immediately following in the church cemetery.
