Mr. Donald L. Breon

It is with great sadness that the families of Donald (Don) L. Breon announce his death that occurred on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Lubbock, Texas. Don was returning home to Maryland after a 2-½ week cross-country journey that included travels through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. This was the third cross-country trip that Don had taken enjoying the beauty of our country and the many connections made with people along the way. Don was born on December 9, 1963 in Bellefonte, PA to Donald and Delores (McClellan) Breon, who reside in nearby State College, PA. Don graduated from State College Area High School and Pennsylvania State University followed by a career spanning all areas of business. A life long fan of Penn State, Don had numerous personal items adorned with PSU, the Nittany Lion, or painted in Blue & White. For 24 ½ years, Don was employed with Sodexo, with 10 of those years spent as the Director for Food and Environmental Services at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV. Don is remembered as a leader who motivated and challenged others to do the best they could earning him many awards and accolades from employees and colleagues. An organization where Don was a proud member was the Bellefonte Lodge No. 268 Free and Accepted Mason in Bellefonte, PA. Don was an active participant in work related events to raise awareness and money for many social and charitable organizations. Through his children, he also supported local high school and recreation leagues for soccer, basketball, cheerleading, softball, and gymnastics. Along with his passion for riding motorcycles and bowling, his love of sports, music, travel, and hosting get-togethers cannot compare to the love he held for his wife, Kaye (McMullen) and daughters, Anna Marie-Elizabeth and Jenna Kaye. His commitment and devotion to his entire family is unsurpassed and he is greatly missed by his family and large circle of close friends. In addition to his wife, daughters, and parents, Don will be forever remembered by in-laws, Kenneth and Joan (Hampton) McMullen; brother-in-law and sister- in-law, Thomas and Sharon (McMullen) Smith; nephew and niece, Ryan Thomas Smith and Rachel Anne Smith. Don will also be forever remembered by his uncle Les McClellan (Aunt Marie), and Aunt Mary Louise McClellan along with many cousins and other extended family members and friends. Don was predeceased by his uncle, Fred McClellan and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 6-8pm and on Saturday from 3pm until the time of services.
