Denise M. "Micki" Isaacs

Denise Michele “Micki” Isaacs of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away in her home surrounded by her loving husband and sons on Monday, September 12, 2022, after a long brave battle with ALS disease at the age of 64. After beating melanoma cancer in July of 2021, Micki was diagnosed with ALS disease in October of 2021 and fought extremely hard until the very end, rarely ever complaining. Micki was born on July 2, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland to proud parents Frederick and Nancy Krug. The Krug family moved to western Howard County in her early childhood. She was one of eight children including Brothers Fred, Bob, and Tom Krug, and Sisters Patty Quenzer, Kathy Patrick, Nance Mullinix, and Jennie Rizzo. Growing up, Micki had a passion for horseback riding both competitively and for pleasure. She graduated from Glenelg High School in 1976 where she enjoyed being on the softball and drill team. This is where she met her husband of nearly 43 years, Joel Isaacs. Joel and Micki loved to travel together before settling down and having their three wonderful boys. Micki is survived by her husband Joel, son Joey and his wife Becky, son Josh and his wife Meaghan, son Jake and his wife Laura as well as her seven beautiful grandchildren Taylor, Wade, Josie, Kyle, Hailey, Abigail, and Leah. Micki was loved by so many and was one of the kindest most caring people around. She truly was an Angel on earth. Her love of children called her to spend nearly 20 years working at Lisbon Elementary School as a paraeducator. She also taught CCD classes at St. Michaels Church. Her happy place was in Ocean City, Maryland especially when spending precious time with her family at the beach house. You would very rarely see her without a camera as she loved taking pictures of her family, but her greatest joy of all was being “Granny Mick” and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. The funeral mass and internment will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11am at St. Michael’s Church, 1125 St. Michael’s Road, Mount Airy, MD. A reception will be held immediately following at St. Michael’s Church. Flowers are appreciated; however, the family ask that instead of sending flowers, please make a donation in her name to any deserving charity of your choice.
