David Wayne McIlvaine Sr., Ellicott City, MD, age 69 on May 26, 2023 at Gilchrist Hospice, Howard County, MD, after a courageous 13 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born and raised in Woodbury, NJ David was a resident of Ellicott City and Catonsville, MD for 34 years. A top producing residential REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty- McIlvaine Home Team, Columbia MD and formerly with Coldwell Banker & Long & Foster. The son of the late Margaret & Ernest F. McIlvaine, Sr. David was married to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie McIlvaine, (nee Hughes) formerly of West Deptford, NJ for 38 years and who predeceased him on January 31, 2014, after a brief but brave battle with breast cancer. David and Bonnie worked side by side in their businesses along with their son David W. McIlvaine, Jr. Beloved father of Alicia (Stephen) Mariner, David, Jr. (Allison) and Corrine McIlvaine. Grandfather of Alexis, Stephen, Mackenzie, Piper and Xavier Mariner, Tucker and Chandler Dunn, Jackson, Hudson and Haven McIlvaine. Survived also by his brothers, Kenneth (Wanda) McIlvaine, Thomas (Shelly) McIlvaine, and sister Diane (Ralph) Eldredge. Predeceased by his late brother Ernest F. McIlvaine Jr. And survived by brother-in- laws William (Pat) Hughes, Charles (Chick) (Stella) Hughes, Joseph Hughes and many nieces and nephews. David loved his wife Bonnie and missed her terribly over the years. He loved his children and grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was especially grateful to daughter Alicia and the family who were his caregivers. A Woodbury NJ HS class of 1971 graduate, David served in the US Air Force upon graduation, returning home 2 years later from Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines to donate his kidney to save older brother Freddie’s life; David’s kidney donation allowed brother Fred another 30 years of life. David held management positions with two major retailers before entering real estate. He formerly served as President of the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® and was the recipient 2011-2012 Realtor of the Year by the Maryland Assoc, of REALTORS®. He held numerous professional designations including GRI, CRS, SRES, e-PRO, and ASP. He formerly sat on many real estate committees including the Executive Committee of GBBR and the Board of Directors of the Maryland Assoc. of REALTORS®. David was a former City of Woodbury, NJ councilman and volunteer fireman with Goodwill Fire Co. (NJ). He loved business, enjoyed reading, exercising at the gymn, healthy eating & traveling. He especially loved the years they shared as a family at their beach home in Ocean City, Md.
