Darrell Mason Parrish

Darrell Mason Parrish, known to everyone as “Bud,” passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. He was 88 years old. Born in Ansted, West Virginia, on October 26, 1937, Bud later made his way to Baltimore, Maryland, where he married his wife, Barbara “Pat” Parrish. Bud and Pat called Baltimore home for nearly 50 years before retiring to Ocean City, Maryland. Bud worked for many years as a factory maintenance supervisor before retraining to become a truck driver. As an over-the-road driver, he traveled throughout much of the United States, later transitioning to more local routes prior to retirement. Bud discovered golf as a kid while working as a caddy, teaching himself the game. It would become his lifelong passion. He made friends wherever he went, but it was through the game of golf that he formed many of his closest and longest-lasting friendships, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he played with. Above all, Bud’s true love and devotion was for his wife, Pat. They enjoyed taking road trips together, visiting family, friends, and new places. Together, they found their greatest joy in being grandparents—always there for their grandchildren, attending school and sporting events, taking them on trips, and hosting them for extended stays at the beach. Bud and Pat were married for 59 years. Bud’s love and devotion were always evident in the care he provided for Pat at home in the years leading up to her passing in 2020. Bud spent his final years doing the things he loved—spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and playing many rounds of golf with his friends. He lived his life much as he played golf: with integrity, self-discipline, hard work, a smile, and devotion to those around him. Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Pat. He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Len), and his son, Keith (Deana); his grandchildren, Nicole (Jereme), Brandon, Benjamin (Carrie), Anna, and Luke; and his great-grandchildren, Weston and Kaden, all of whom he adored. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, at Diamond Ridge Golf Course, 2309 Ridge Road, Windsor Mill, MD 21244. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM.
