Mrs. Marilyn Rita Quenzer

**The Quenzer family kindly requests that their visitors where a mask. Marilyn Rita Quenzer, age 93 of Caritas House Assisted Living and formerly of Ellicott City and Charlestown passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Born February 10, 1928 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Schaefer Erbe. She was the wife of the late Harold Arthur Quenzer Sr. who passed away in 2009. Marilyn grew up in Catonsville graduated from Mt. de Sales Academy and worked for the telephone company before marrying. She and Harold moved to Ellicott City where she raised her family, She reentered the working world for over 20 years at First National Bank until she retired. She spent most of her retirement years in her Ellicott City home and eventually moved to the Charlestown Retirement Community. Marilyn was very dedicated and proud of her family. She loved to shop, was an avid reader and an excellent cook. She enjoyed entertaining and especially loved Holidays and Sunday dinners, especially sour beef and dumpling dinners, with her family. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her friends. She belonged to a Tea Club which was highlighted with entertainment, tea parties, vintage hats, friendship and creating beautiful memories. Additionally, she was a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of Resurrection Church, Surviving are her children Nancy Ackman and her husband Steve; Harry Quenzer and his wife Patti; Donna Krug and her husband Fred; Michael Quenzer and his partner Stephen Ross; a brother Jay Erbe and his wife Sandy, 13 grandchildren; Janet, Jennifer, Todd, Jason, Bridget, Kristen, Katie and 3 sets of twins: Carrie and Courtney, Eric and Emma, Luke and Lizzie and 27 great grandchildren with the 28th on the way and a niece and 5 nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Cindy Quenzer Bruss and by her sister Marguerite Erbe Quinn. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 711 Maiden Choice Ln., Catonsville, MD 21228. (Located in Charlestown Retirement Community). Interment will be in New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Caritas House, 3308 Benson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21227
